First, my Great Grandpa John passed away. I didn't get to meet him, but he knew about me and I knew about him. I know he's in Heaven right now smiling down on me. Mommy, Grandma Barb, Aunt Jo, and I drove to Texas to be with Great Grandma for Great Grandpa's Memorial service. I didn't always like the car ride, but Grandma said I was a dream passenger because I was so good. I guess I was better than Mommy though because she talked for the entire 3000 mile round trip. She must get bored in the car!
Second, I'm 1 year old now! Yay! I had two birthday parties. The first one was bittersweet (that's the word Mommy said) because we were in Texas for my Great Grandpa's funeral, but since my birthday was Wednesday and we had to leave that day, we had a small party for me Tuesday night.
The "big" party was today. Let me tell you one thing: I LOVE CAKE!! Cake is wonderful! Cake is the best thing to EVER happen to me (besides meeting Great Grandma Phyllis)! :) Presents are awesome too!!! I like birthdays.
I got a free cake from the grocery store, Grandma Berding made me a marble cake, and Daddy made a carrot cake. Good thing I like cake because we'll be eating it until my next birthday!
I got to meet my new cousin Leif. Boy! He sure is cute!! Not quite as cute as me, but he's close. (Haha! Just kidding!!!) I can't wait until he's bigger so we can get into all sorts of trouble. :)
